Ticket Piles is a personal spatial board for Jira Cloud. Search issues, drop them on an infinite canvas, and group nearby cards into named piles. Jira stays read-only. The App does not create, edit, or transition issues.

Install and open

  1. Install Ticket Piles from the Atlassian Marketplace. A Jira site admin must approve the install.
  2. In Jira, open Apps → Ticket Piles.
  3. Each person gets their own canvas. Layouts are not shared across users.

A site admin must keep an active Marketplace subscription (or trial) for the App to open. If the trial has ended, ask a billing admin to subscribe in Admin Hub, then reload the page.

Search and add issues

  1. Type a Jira key or a keyword in the search bar at the top of the canvas.
  2. Click Add on a result to drop that issue as a card.
  3. A checkmark means the issue is already on your canvas. Click it to jump to that card.

Cards show the issue key, summary, status, and assignee. That information is loaded live from Jira. Removing a card from the canvas does not change the issue in Jira.

Add by filter

If Add by filter is shown next to the search bar, you can drop a saved Jira filter onto the canvas:

  1. Star the filter in Jira so it appears under Favourite filters.
  2. Open Add by filter and click Add on a favourite.
  3. Matching issues land as cards and are grouped into a pile named after the filter.
  4. Issues already on the canvas are skipped.

Filters come from Jira. Ticket Piles does not create or edit Jira filters.

Arrange the canvas

Named piles

Drag cards near each other. Nearby cards cluster into a pile. You can:

Pile names exist only on your canvas. They do not become Jira labels, components, or sprints.

Personal notes

Click a card to open the side drawer. You can add a private note. Notes are saved with your board and are not written back to the Jira issue. The drawer also links to the issue in Jira.

Reload and save

Layout, pile names, and notes are stored per user in Forge on your Jira site. Nothing is sent to a vendor server. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Permissions

The App uses your Jira permissions. You will not see issues you cannot already view in Jira.
